At this point, I'm going to restrict myself to noting that I'm amazed that anyone could complain about the 'irrelevance' of all those gorgeous stills in the Tarr film and then not be even more pained by the hours of totally pointless activity in Lust, Caution. Personally, I'll take the stark beauty of two men dancing to an accordion over that ludicrous scene where whats-her-name does her whole "look at me, I can sing and dance in Chinese" act any day of the week. Clearly, I disagree right down the line, and will eventually get around to posting my side of things.
